Computer Resolution

How to adjust your Computer Resolution.

The resolution of your computer is stated in pixels. It could be 640 x 480 or 800 x 600, etc. If your web site looks different on your computer than everyone else's it could be your resolution is too low. To fix your resolution go to Start then Control Panel then Display and then click on Settings. There should be a slider indicating your current resolution. Change this to 1024 x 768. Click OK and then close out. Now everything should look a little bit better.

In the mid 1990's most computers had a resolution of 640 x 480. Currently the most common resolution is 1024 x 768. Generally your web site will be designed with this as the target resolution. Some folks might have an even higher resolution if they use certain software like video games. Also some software such as kid's games might decrease your resolution when they are played. You will need to fix the resolution after your kids are done with your computer.
