What do we mean by a 'Basic Site'.
When we quote a site for you we may indicate that the price is for a basic site. A basic site consists of 5 to 7 pages. Those pages would typically consist of:
These are the most common types of pages you will see on small web sites. There are other pages that could be substituted for one of the above such as Office Locations, Driving Directions, Class Schedule, Office Hours, Company Information, Company Profile, Company History, Mission Statement, Related Links, etc. Also for certain businesses a Portfolio Page might be broken down into Interior/ Exterior or Residential/ Commercial.
A basic site consists of these 5 to 7 HTML files. It will also include a CSS file that will provide the theme or the look or the consistent layout of the pages.
A basic site is not a dynamic site.
A basic site is not an interactive site.
A basic site does not include any database work.
A basic site is not a Flash site or contain Flash files.
A basic site does not include any graphic design.
Whatever photographs or graphics you want on your site need to be provided to us in a CD or via Email.
A basic site does no include scanning photographs. Photographs should be supplied to us via CD or email.
A basic site will accomplish what you want. It will feature your business and why customers should do business with you.
A basic site is a static site.
Of course once we meet we may determine that it would be best to add some additional services. Perhaps your portfolio would be better presented with a flash slide show. Perhaps your Frequently Asked Questions could be better organized with a simple bit of JavaScript. Perhaps your Contact Page should be converted to a PHP Form.
We may agree that you do not have the time or equipment to scan your photos. We can easily do it for you. We would just charge based on how many photos you have. We can scan and upload a dozen photos in less than two hours. We would just charge you for that time.
You may want a logo or banner created for your site. We can easily do that for you. We would ask for your preferences and then design one to your specifications. It would be billed based on the time it took to create.
We will generally recommend that you have a Basic Site. These are the most affordable sites. Often business owners are reluctant to purchase a web site because of the upfront cost. A Basic Site could be purchased for under $1000. Our most recent project which had 8 pages was much less than that.
